Why CreatiCampus? Turning Campus Ideas into Real-World Impact

CreatiCampus is ProfUR's second big idea after IMF: every campus can be an engine of the creative economy. Its open-access scholarly series carries campus ideas from Indonesian classrooms to readers and researchers around the world.

Every campus is full of ideas. CreatiCampus turns them into impact.

Walk through any campus and you will feel it: a student sketching a batik motif on a laptop, a team filming a short documentary, a coder building an app at midnight, a band recording its first song. Campuses are overflowing with creativity. Yet so many of those ideas end in a drawer, a forgotten folder or a grade on a transcript. CreatiCampus exists to change that, and it is the second big idea ProfUR is sharing with the world after IMF.

What is CreatiCampus?

CreatiCampus is a simple, powerful belief: every campus can be an engine of the creative economy. It sees a university not only as a place that teaches about creativity, but as a place that produces it, nurtures it and launches it into the world as products, startups, intellectual property, careers and knowledge.

To make that belief real, CreatiCampus has a home: an open-access scholarly series at creaticampus.esquine.com. It publishes working papers, conceptual papers and policy briefs on how campuses create, grow and scale creative talent and ideas. Every paper is written in English, open for anyone to read and download, and built to be found on Google Scholar, so a good idea born in an Indonesian classroom can be read and cited by a researcher in Nairobi, Auckland or New York.

Why now? Indonesia's creative moment

Indonesia has made the creative economy a national mission, with its own ministry (Ekraf), its own law and a long-term plan running to 2045. The world is paying attention too, through the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE). Creativity is no longer a hobby on the side. It is a serious engine for jobs, exports and national identity.

But big policies need fresh ideas from the ground, and the ground is the campus. That is where the next designers, filmmakers, game developers, content creators and creative founders are being formed right now. CreatiCampus stands exactly at that meeting point, linking national ambition to what really happens in classrooms, studios, labs and incubators, and turning those experiences into research others can learn from.

Ideas that deserve to travel

Here is the thrilling part. CreatiCampus does not wait for perfect conditions. It treats every strong campus idea as a mission worth publishing: a new framework for creative incubation, a fresh look at artificial intelligence in creative education, a bold model for inclusive creative campuses. The very first paper, CC-001, on "inclusively creative" campuses and Orange Technology, is already live in Volume 1, Issue 1. More are on the way, each with its own question, its own method and its own look, so no two papers feel the same.

Behind the series stands a team of eleven: ProfUR and ten researchers who personally chose to join, working across several countries. Each paper is written by a small team chosen fairly, so every member gets the chance to lead, learn and shine. Every paper goes through review and revision before it is published, so quality grows with every issue.

IMF and CreatiCampus: the perfect pair

If CreatiCampus is the destination, IMF is the vehicle. Every paper, every project and every issue can be run as an IMF mission: 14 jobs in 2 weeks, a clear Viewboard, a Bismillah to begin and an Alhamdulillah to finish. IMF keeps the work fast, focused and measurable. CreatiCampus gives that work a purpose and a stage. Together, they turn "someday we should write about this" into "it's published, it's indexed, and the world can read it."

From campus to the world

The dream behind CreatiCampus is bigger than one website. It is a movement in which lecturers, students, startups, industry, government and communities all see the campus as a source of creative energy for the nation. It is a place where a student's idea can become a paper, a paper can become a policy conversation, and a policy conversation can become new opportunities for millions of young creative Indonesians.

Your invitation

So here is the invitation. Look around your own campus, office or community. What creative idea there deserves to be shared? Which experiment, project or program has a lesson the world should hear? Write it down, run it as an IMF mission, and let CreatiCampus help carry it from your campus to the world.

Ideas only change the world when they leave the room. CreatiCampus opens the door. Are you ready to walk through it?
